Terms and Conditions

1. Payment

Students are required to pay for each semester before the start of the term. A 5% discount is offered for full payment of the annual tuition (42 lessons), but the lessons must be completed within one year and are non-refundable and cannot be carried over to the next term. In the case of a mid-semester withdrawal, Silk String Music will not refund the remaining tuition fees; however, it may be transferred to a family member or friend to continue lessons within the same year. If a student cannot attend an entire term of classes, the school can offer a minimum of 8 lessons under a casual student system. For specific fees, please refer to the Casual Rate Lesson Fee. All Tuition will increase by 4% annually based on the market CPI.

2. Make-up Classes

To ensure the best teaching quality, Silk String Music will adjust lesson schedules according to your needs. If a student needs to take leave from a lesson, a minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required. If the notice period is not met, 100% of the lesson fee will be charged. In case of an emergency illness, the student may reschedule the class with a valid medical certificate. If the make-up class cannot be arranged within the same week, the school will schedule the class during the holiday period. However, we can only arrange a maximum of 2 make-up lessons per term. Make-up lessons cannot carry over to the next term. Please note that during the holiday period, a substitute teacher may be assigned for make-up classes.

If a class is cancelled due to the teacher’s absence, the student will be notified by text, email, or phone call. A make-up class will be arranged with either the same teacher or a different teacher. The original teacher will provide all relevant teaching materials, outlines, and plans to the substitute teacher, ensuring no disruption in the quality of instruction.

In cases where a student is unable to attend lessons due to serious illness, the missed lessons may be carried over to the next semester, provided a valid doctor’s note is submitted. All tuition can be deferred to the next semester, but refunds are not permitted.

*Please note that the make-up class policy applies only to one-on-one lessons. For group classes, no make-up classes will be provided for absences; instead, a recording of the session missed will be offered. Alternatively, you may join another class at the same level within the same week.

3. Substitute Teachers

If a substitute teacher is absent or unable to continue teaching, another teacher will take over the remaining lessons. If no substitute teacher is available, the tuition fee will be refunded.

4. Lateness

If a student arrives late due to personal reasons, the lesson will end at the scheduled time, and no make-up time will be provided. If the teacher is late, the lesson will also end at the scheduled time, and the school will arrange for a make-up lesson or additional time added to a subsequent lesson.

5. Trial Classes

Silk String Music offers trial classes for all interested students. Trial fees must be paid before or on the day of the trial lesson. If you need to cancel a trial class, please notify the school 24 hours in advance; last-minute cancellations will still incur the cost of the trial lesson. A 50% discount off trial lessons will be offered for Group Lessons, while one-on-one lessons will be charged at the full price.

6. Extended Leave (Private lesson only)

If you have made plans in advance to return to your home country or are going overseas for an extended period, please notify the school at the start of the previous term so that the missed lessons can be made up beforehand (e.g. if you are on extended leave in Term 3, please notify us at Term 2). All students must pay for the entire semester’s tuition at the start of the term. If an extended leave is taken during the semester (e.g., for international travel or family visits), the lesson slot will be reserved for the student. However, missed lessons that cannot be made up may have 50% of the tuition carried over to the next semester. We only offer up to 2 lessons of make-up per term as stated in 2. Make-up Classes

7. Year-End Concert

The school holds an annual large-scale concert, typically scheduled around November. To enhance performance quality and recognise teachers’ efforts, rehearsals will be charged as paid group lessons.

8. Music Performance Classes

To help students prepare for various performance opportunities, the school organises different levels of ensembles and weekly group ensemble rehearsals. Each term of ensemble classes consists of 8 weeks, with a fee of $40/90 minutes. A 10% discount is available for students who pay for two consecutive terms of ensemble classes, and a 20% discount is available for students paying for the full year upfront.

We greatly value your opinions, as your feedback helps us continuously improve the management of the school. We will do our utmost to resolve any issues you raise. 学费准则

1， 付费

学生需在学期开始前缴付每个学期的费用。如一次性交付全年的学费（42 节课），可    以享受 5%的优惠，但这些课时需在一年内使用完，不予退费也不往后续延。如中途退学，姜萍音乐学校将不予退费，但是学费可以转让于家人或者朋友在本年中继续学习。如无法上满 1 个学期，我们学校提供最少 8 节课的付费制度，具体收费标准请查看- Casual Rate Lesson Fee.  根据市场CPI 每年的学费会有 4% 增长。

2， 补课

为了保证最好的教学质量，姜萍音乐学校将根据您的需要调整课时安排。临时请假需至少提前 24 小时通知学校，否则将扣除该次课时 100%的学费。如果因紧急生病临时请假，学校将给予补课，但需要提供有效的医生证明。如果在当周内无法补课，学校将会安排老师在假期给予补课。但是每个学期只有两次补课机会。补课不可以由本学期延续到下个学期。请注意，假期补课老师可能会是不同的代课老师。

如果由于老师的原因取消课时，学生将会被手机短信，邮件或电话通知。补课将会被安排与同一位老师或者不同的老师进行。

原代课老师将会把所教课材料，大纲和计划给予临时代课老师。保证教学质量不变。如学生因特别严重的疾病停课，课时费可以延续到下个学期。需要出示有效的医生证明。所有学费可以延续到下个学期，但是不可以变现退还。

*请注意，补课制度仅限于一对一小课学生，大课如有缺席不予补课，我们会提供本节课录播视频供您在家学习或者调整到另外一个同级别的班给予补课。

3， 代课老师

如果代课老师因为各种原因缺席或者中断，我们将由另外一位老师接替所剩课时。如果没有代课老师接替原班级我们将退还学费。

4， 迟到

如果学生因自身原因迟到，课时将会按原时间结束，将不会有补课或者补时。如果是因为老师迟到，课时将会按原时间结束，我们将会安排另外一个时间补课或者补时。

5， 试课

姜萍音乐学校为所有感兴趣学员提供试课。试课费须在试课前或当天试完课之后支付。如需取消试课，请于 24 小时前通知，临时取消也将会收取费用。大班课可以提供半价   优惠，一对一小课为原价费用。

6， 长时间请假

如果计划提前回国，请于前一个学期通知学校，所缺的课时将可以被提前补上。所有学员在学期开始时需付清整个学期的费用。如果在学期中间长时间请假，例如：出国旅游，出国探亲。你的课时时间将为您保留。但缺失，无法弥补的课时在学期末可以有 50%的费用可以延续到下个学期。

7， 年终音乐会

学校每年都会举办一次大型音乐会，通常安排在 11 月份左右。为了更好地提升演出质量，并保障老师们的辛勤付出，排练为收费课时，将按照正常课时消耗。

8， 音乐表演课

为了让学员以适应各种形式的演出需要， 学校将会根据学生程度组织各种形式和级别的乐队和每周一次的小组乐队排练，每学期 8 周，费用为$40/90mins 。 如连续缴纳两个学期的表演课费用将有 10%的优惠，一年将有 20%优惠。
